Fifty Hours · Season 1
A clockmaker is dead. His will names five strangers. You are one of them.
The Verrick Bequest is a four-week mystery you solve in writing, with four other adults you have never met. Each of you holds different papers. Nobody can crack it alone, and you only find out what you have when you start comparing notes.
Take a seat: $15 for the seasonHow a week works
- One question a week. Whose hand stopped the clock? What did the burglar take? Each answer changes what the next one means.
- Your own satchel. You get a private set of letters, logs and sworn statements. The others get different ones.
- 48 hours, on your own time. The window opens, and you read and post on Discord whenever suits you. Nobody needs to be online at once.
- The answer comes out. When the window shuts the host posts what happened, right or wrong, so missing a week never leaves you stuck.
What you get for $15
- A seat at a table of five for all four weeks of one complete, solvable mystery.
- Season 1 has 20 seats, at four tables of five. Sign-ups close on 17 November, or sooner if every seat is taken. Play starts once the tables are full.
- A one-off payment. Nothing renews and we will never charge you again. If there is a second season, you choose whether to buy it.
- All sales are final. You get your money back only if we cannot seat you within 14 days of paying, or the season does not run.
- Open to adults in the United States for this first run.
Straight answers
How much time? We expect under an hour a week, in short bursts. This is the first run, and nobody has played a paid season yet, so that is an estimate.
Who runs it? A bot, on Discord, on a fixed schedule. The case was written with AI and checked by AI readers, using Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. A logic checker also proves that any three seats can solve each week. No person has checked the case. The Clerk, the host you talk to, is an AI. Its messages are pre-written or written by Claude, and go out without a person reading them first. The sign-up form tells you exactly what is sent to the AI.
Is it scary? It is a period whodunit with one death, nothing graphic. Everything in it is fiction.
Who else is there? Adults, 18 and over. Each person confirms their age. Discord accounts are not otherwise verified, so keep your personal details to yourself. There are rules and a report link, and a real person reads every report.
